University Campus Ministry

SANTO DOMINGO, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC — Red Universitaria (University Ministry Network) is the campus ministry of the Assemblies of God in Latin America.

Assist with evangelism, discipleship in Uconexion University ministries, currently active on UASD university in Santo Domingo, a commuter campus of 200,000 students in urban capital city of Dominican Republic.  Potential opportunity for long term MAs to help launch ministries on other private universities in the city and/or in a city in the interior of the country.

Ministry base is the Puente Community Center, a house 2 blocks from campus open for students to come study, eat, rest, connect from 9-5 M-F.  

‘Connecting conversations” is the large group weekly meeting for conversation and the Word; student leaders are trained via Discipleship by Design course, and then commit to give 10+ hours/week as small group leaders.  Guy and gal small groups meet weekly; small group leaders meet for a Resource class weekly and for a leadership class bi-weekly.  

Responsibilities:  Assist in all aspects of Uconexion ministry; host at the Puente center; lead or co-lead small group on campus, one on one discipleship of students and student leaders; evangelism on campus; assist with large group meeting and leadership classes depending on experience.

Get involved in church plant for weekend ministry (university ministry is not active on weekends)

Qualifications: 2 yrs+ university or university graduate, relational evangelism skills, team player, Spanish recommended (but Chi Alpha leadership experience more important)

Experience Desired: Chi Alpha background, having XA CMIT experience a huge PLUS
