MAPS Volunteer (1-11 months)
MA (1-2 years)
Type: Children's Ministry, Church and Outreach, and Medical
Our 4-year old son has a tracheostomy and a feeding tube. He is currently non-verbal, but is in speech therapy. We are looking for someone who can be with him every day at school (M-F, 9:00-1:00) as his aide, suctioning his trach as needed and assisting with feeding and communication. This is a great opportunity for anyone with experience or wanting to gain experience in pediatric nursing, speech therapy, linguistics, early childhood education, or special education. But expertise or experience in any of these fields is not necessary. We need someone who is good with kids and willing to learn trach care. You would be investing in both our family and the ministry here. Since the school is bilingual, this is also a great chance to learn Italian, and you would have the opportunity to serve on our team at the international church. Those responsibilities could be determined based on your passions and abilities.
