ACE/Chubb Insurance Information

All volunteers serving with an AG missionary are required to register with AGWM and purchase ACE/Chubb insurance. ACE/Chubb insurance coverage is not intended to replace a volunteer’s current coverage but is in addition to their coverage. In case of a medical emergency or accident, the host missionary arranges for medical treatment and/or evacuation with AGWM's assistance. ACE/Chubb has high standards, exceptional benefit package, liability coverage, and low cost of $4.95/person/day.

ACE/Chubb Insurance Packet

NOTE: ACE/Chubb insurance only covers claims that are made outside of the U.S. Once the insured volunteer/team returns to their U.S. residence, ACE/Chubb insurance coverage ceases and they will need to depend on their personal insurance company for all claims made in the U.S.

Please visit Short-Term Trips.

I want to go on a trip under 31 days in duration, and I don't have an invitation from an AG missionary host. How should I apply?

If you do not have an invitation, you can check out our Opportunities Page or contact Pipeline for help getting connected with a missionary.

When does ACE/Chubb insurance coverage begin and end?

Insurance coverage begins the day you leave the U.S. and ends the day you return, at the completion of your assignment.

Are the ACE/Chubb insurance funds refundable?

Refunds are available 24 hours before departure date. Refunds cannot be issued after date of departure.

I already purchased my own insurance; is AGWM ACE/Chubb insurance mandatory?

Yes. As per the decision of the AGWM Executive Committee, all teams and individuals working with an AG World Missionary are required to purchase AGWM-provided ACE/Chubb insurance for the entirety of their approved trips, without exception. This will ensure that the host missionary is prepared to handle any medical or evacuation needs while volunteers travel abroad. This requirement is in addition to any personal policy an individual or team member may already have. ACE/Chubb insurance coverage is not intended to replace the team member's current coverage but is in addition to their coverage.

Do I tell teams that it is ok to purchase their own insurance?

One of the requirements needed to complete the team registration process with AGWM is to purchase the AGWM Travel Insurance. The cost is $4.95 per person/per day, including the days of travel. The AGWM Executive Committee, with recommendation of legal counsel, has made a decision that all teams are required to purchase AGWM Travel Insurance as part of the AGWM registration process. Teams may have another overseas insurance provider, but they must also purchase the AGWM Travel Insurance to complete registration for approval.
